If you love deeply intriguing crime novels this is a must read. What happens when a disgraced financial author tries to solve a murder mystery to gain back his honor and is first hindered and then helped by a mysterious and completely distrusting girl with a tattoo. 5. Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie

Samna Rushdie had been easily able to weave the actual post-colonial history of India with a magical underline and created a novel so intriguing you will not be able to put it down an try to finish it in one seating. Considered as a historical fiction this book will touch all your nostalgic hearts with its simplistic but amusing narrative.





6. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

We finally had to end with a classic. If you want to pick up one for the winters then pick this one and it will take you through the coming of age of young Pip. The various gritty characters and Dicken’s style of writing will have you mesmerized.
